BACK TO SCHOOL!
Welcome and welcome back to our new and returning students and families! We are looking forward to a school year that looks much more familiar than last year’s did. Although we are still dealing with similar health climate issues, we do feel that we are miles ahead of where we were at this time last year and we plan to carry out events that were so missed last year. We hope all the students are off to a great start and hope to have a happy and successful 2021-2022 school year!
Our SGES apparel store is now open! The store will remain open through 9/20. Place your order online and pick up, or have it shipped, from Sneakers Plus in Wall. An email will be sent when your order is ready. We’ve got some great new items this time around, so don’t miss out! Thank you to Janine D’Altrui for organizing this for us again! Use the following link to being shopping.
Our first PTO meeting with be Thursday 9/23 at 8:30am on the picnic benches. Please bring all of your questions and suggestions. This will be a great opportunity to meet the members of the PTO and members of our SGES community, learn about fundraising plans for the school year and sign up for any volunteer positions that are still open. We hope to see you all there!
We can’t emphasize enough how important volunteers are to the success of the school year. There are many things our parents and kids want to see happen throughout the year that are made possible because of those who volunteer. Please reach out to a PTO member to find out how you can become part of a committee or become a committee Chair. WE ARE ALL THE PTO!
Calendars are still available to purchase through myfooddays.com. They are $30 each and feature our children’s artwork, dates to remember and a school directory. A giant thank you to Mariam Savaria for making the calendar happen this year. It looks great! Calendars will be available to pick up or purchase at our first PTO meeting on Thursday 9/23 – 8:30am.
Our crafters have been patiently waiting to find out if we will be holding our annual Artisan Market. We have a few volunteers, but no one to Chair this event. This position is crucial if we want the Artisan Market to happen. This does not have to be a solo mission or seen as a scary undertaking. There are many of us members of the SGES community who are here to provide support and help guide those of you who may be new and want to help. The Artisan Market really does take a lot of manpower, so the more the merrier. In talks with Mr. Papera, we will be adjusting how the market would happen this year, but sincerely want to see this beloved event happen. Please reach out to a PTO member if you’d like to help in any capacity.
TEACHER WELCOME BACK BREAKFAST
Hospitality chairs, Debbie Lajewski and Kelly Jarmon, welcomed back our teachers with a beautiful surprise breakfast on September 2. As always, they did an amazing job and we are so grateful to have this duo back together for the upcoming school year!
We are looking to move away from our current website and become a tab on www.seagirt.k12.nj.us . This would involve some minor tech work that would consist of copying and pasting, no coding of any sort. If anyone is interested in helping out with the switch over, please let a PTO member know. In the mean time, our website is still up and past newsletters and PTO minutes can be found there. Also, please follow @sgpatriotpride on Instagram for the latest PTO announcements, info and pics.
NEW TEACHER’S LOUNGE GIFT
The PTO surprised the teacher’s with a new Keurig machine, K-cups and K-cup caddy for their new lounge. We hope they enjoy many hot cups of Joe this year!
