THE HOLIDAYS ARE HERE!
We hope everyone had the kind of thanksgiving they were hoping to have; quiet and relaxing, fun filled and loud or a vacation to some place warm. Whatever it was, we hope your thanksgiving was great. It’s hard to believe its time to start looking towards a new season and a new year!
CRAFT MARKET@sgpatriotpride. VOLUNTEERS We can’t emphasize enough how important volunteers are to the success of the school year. There are many things our parents and kids want to see happen throughout the year that are made possible because of those who volunteer. Please reach out to a PTO member to find out how you can become part of a committee or become a committee Chair. WE ARE ALL THE PTO! SANTA BREAKFAST Details for our annual Breakfast with Santa are being worked out now. If you would like to volunteer in some capacity, please reach out to Liz Collins or to a board member. Please stay tuned to your email and @sgpatriotpride for further information. CALENDARS Calendars are still available for purchase. They are $30 each and feature our children’s artwork, dates to remember and a school directory. Given the holiday season, the calendar can be a very helpful resource for sending out holiday cards. Calendars will be available to purchase at our December PTO meeting or by contacting a board member. PTO WEBSITE We are looking to move away from our current website and become a tab on www.seagirt.k12.nj.us . This would involve some minor tech work that would consist of copying and pasting, no coding of any sort. If anyone is interested in helping out with the switch over, please let a PTO member know. In the mean time, our website is still up and past newsletters and PTO minutes can be found there. Also, please follow
The 2021 Craft Market went off without a hitch and the feedback from vendors, patrons and volunteers, was nothing but positive. The 1 day, outdoor event, drew about 25 vendors, instead of the usual 50+, but this, in no way, took away from the excitement of the day. Our vendors arrived early, smiling and ready to share their wares. We had shoppers lined up, ready to go, even before the market opened at 10:00. Our kitchen was pumping out hot cups of coffee, warm quiche, sweet treats and steaming bowls of soup; all served with a smile by our hard working 8th graders. A giant shout out to our team of kitchen ladies for all their behind the scenes efforts and making this special part of the market happen! The Raffle Basket table was a sight to see! Around 33 baskets filled with various donated items like spa treatments, artwork, a surf board, local restaurant gift cards, wine, even the chance to be principal for a day, drew crowds throughout the entire 6hrs. Even some of our own SGES families went home big winners! A massive shout out to our Raffle Basket chair, Mariam Savaria, for organizing this epic part of the Craft Market. The Bake Booth was another huge success on the day. Thank you to all the families who donated your homemade baked goods. Everything looked delicious! Dana Reid, our Bake Booth chair, said this was the first year she had ever sold out. Awesome! We can’t thank Dana enough for all the work she puts into this key piece of the Craft Market each year. A big, heart felt thank you to every single person who volunteered and supported the day’s efforts. Back in September the idea of pulling off the Craft Market seemed so daunting. Like, who is gonna put this thing on their back and make it happen. The truth is, no one pulled it off. We ALL pulled it off. Thank you, THANK YOU to every one of you who rallied and lent a hand in some way. You are responsible for the success of the day. Talk about Sea Girt Strong!! PTO MEETING Stay tuned to your email and the PTO Instagram page for information regarding our December meeting. With the change in temperatures, we will have to move the meeting off of school grounds and indoors somewhere.
