Happy Sunday Funday in the Girt!
Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful Sunday evening reflecting on the first week of school.
The Sea Girt PTO Board for 2019-2020 would ask that you tell your friends, new families and others about the tools available to help keep all informed on the latest events. Make sure you visit the PTO Website at https://www.seagirtpto.com. This is where the PTO conducts all business, Newsletters, Agendas, Minutes, Ticket Purchases, PTO Store, General Information, and so much more is available here and blasted out through the site. The site will also have its information archived so that if you miss anything you can visit and scroll back to find a previous post. The PTO Board will continue to maximize and utilize the website and instagram this year at sgpatriotpride. So please tell you friends, new families to follow us and also check the website for important updates.
Thanks to all those families who preordered their calendars on www.myfooddays.com. It makes the distribution quite easy. We are almost sold out but there remains a few in the front office. If you are in need of a calendar please stop in and staff will be able to provide you one for $25.00. Thanks again to Kristin Harmon for taking on this task over the summer. There is a lot of coordination, layout and editing that goes into this task over the summer.
MY FOOD DAYS
Ordering has now opened for October 2019. If you are not on My Food Days, it is a great place for lunch orders, calendar orders, ticket sales etc that will happen during the year. Please sign up to keep abreast of ticket sales and other events and opportunities. The Eighth Grade Car Wash tickets will also be available through this site. So even if you do not order lunch it is an easy way to support the many events through the year.
Just to reiterate a couple of changes to the lunch program have happened over the break. We are happy to announce that Jersey Mike’s will be back in October. Thank you Cate Leonardis for all your hard work making this happen. The kids seem to really enjoy it! (healthy or not). We are sad to see Farmly go as they venture on to new things. This was a great option for the kids and we thank them for all their support. The pizza vendor has changed from Benny’s to Naples in Spring Lake Heights. There was some feedback that said it was time to try something new. So please continue to monitor and discuss with the students so the PTO can best serve the kids through the lunch program. We also are grateful for the service over the years and the support of Benny’s pizza. On the horizon is a new vendor that we think will help bring healthier options to the table. Stay tuned for updates regarding this in the month to come.
EIGHTH GRADE CAR WASH
The Eight Grade Car Wash will take place again this year on September 14th with a rain date of the 15th. You can preorder your tickets at www.myfooddays.com. Please come out and support the 8th grade as they continue to fund raise for their trip to Washington DC in the spring. In addition, the Eighth Grade class will also be selling the remaining apparel at this event. There has been an overwhelming response to the apparel sales and there are select few items left. Please make sure to purchase either a car wash ticket or apparel as all the monies raised go toward the Eighth Grade class trip to Washington DC.
As we state every year and every post, we welcome new volunteers to help the Sea Girt PTO to whatever extent works for them. It could be on the back end with social media, up front with events, coordination under another chairperson. The Sea Girt PTO thrives on volunteers. They are the lifeline and we can never have enough. There is always a spot for you! So do not be afraid to “dip your toe in the water in Sea Girt PTO”. We can tailor your responsibilities to fit into your lifestyle. It is very rewarding and also allows you to interface with many of the students, families and faculty of the Sea Girt Elementary School. While most positions are filled there is still a binder in the office for additional spots. Feel free to sign up or reach out to one of the Executive Board Members for more information.
SEA GIRT ARTISAN MARKET
The Sea Girt PTO Artisan and Craft Market is fast approaching. We are excited to blast that we have many new vendors and will have a fresh new look. Not to worry the kitchen and baked goods will always be available along with some of the beloved vendors from over the years. Mark your calendars for November 23rd and 24th stop by and get a fresh look. If you are interested in volunteering for this event please contact any one of the PTO Board Members.

The PTO thanks all the families for their continued support in moving forward all the activities and fundraisers throughout the year. Without the support of the administration, faculty, staff and families we could not meet our goals and carry forward our mission.
The PTO utilizes digital channels to help enhance our communication. Here are the many ways you can keep up with PTO activities:
- The weekly newsletters (you’re reading it!)
- Additions to the Tuesday and Friday school emails
- Our new website (newsletters, events, store, contact form, and more)
- Our PTO email: firstname.lastname@example.org
- PTO Meetings – You’re invited! Please join us monthly to discuss current issues, fundraising, events, volunteering, programs, goals, and anything else important to supporting our school.
- In Person – You can always approach anyone on the PTO board at school, on the playground, around town, or any way you choose.
Please let us know what’s working for you (and what isn’t). If there is anything would like to see us do differently, please let us know. We’re listening on all channels!
Please help to make 2020 a year filled with Patriot Pride at SGES!
