Spring is hear and so is the beautiful weather. There is nothing better than a Sunday in Spring in Sea Girt!
Looking forward to a lot of great activities for the PTO coming up in April, May and June. We have been busy behind the scenes making sure these great events happen! It is important for the children and the Sea Girt Elementary School that we continue the Patriot Pride Spirit and engage the children while giving back to the school. Thank you for your continued support!
The online store has been updated to reflect lower prices and remaining inventory for our Winter Sale! Quantities are limited so don’t wait to get the last of this year’s apparel at reduced prices.
We had another great morning PTO meeting on March 19th. There was great attendance and a lot to report. Thanks to everyone who came out early and especially those who are volunteering. The PTO can never have enough volunteers so if you still are interested we have some open positions listed below. In addition, the committee descriptions and volunteer sign up will be available soon on our Sea Girt PTO website. Keep an eye out for a blast regarding same.
- Memorial Day Games
- Artisan Market
- and others
If you or someone you know are interested, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or discuss with your Class Parent. Some positions can be shadowed for those who want to learn for participation next year.
Note: The board contacted the class parents with more details on these positions. We also requested a class parent representative attend the monthly PTO meetings as part of our continuing efforts to improve communication to all school parents.
Planning is underway for the Annual PTO Spring Social. Date, place, and time to be announced once all details are finalized! This is always a fabulous event and we anticipate a great local venue! The plans currently are for a local event in June. More information to come. Stay tuned!
Memorial Day Games
Save the DATE! May 27 10am-12pm at Baltimore Park. Plans have moved forward and games and activities are already scheduled and committed. This will also be combined with the Grand Reopening of the Park. Very exciting. There will be pony rides, face painting, balloons, rock wall and much more! We will also being having a donation booth for the soldiers again this year. There will be information sent home regarding appropriate donation items as it gets closer. We are so excited to have this event back and engage as much of our local community as we can.
What we are looking for now is volunteers. There will shortly be a sign-up sheet through the website. We will also distribute information through the class parents. In the meantime if you have any questions, want to donate or have time to spare please contact us through the PTO email. We will need volunteers for both set up (prior to the event) and breakdown (after the event) and anywhere in between to help with games and booths etc.
The Dance-A-Thon is BACK! The date is May 17th, the DJ is booked! Thanks to the help of our volunteers we are committed to making this event happen again. The kids absolutely love it and the feedback from the kids when we tell them we will be having a Dance-A-Thon is pure excitement. There will be a letter to the teachers and also to the parents coming home early in April. This is a fundraiser for the PTO to give back to the school. More details to follow. We are excited for ALL classes to participate and enjoy. This is an event for both kids and parents and others. It is so much fund to attend and watch after the long stretch of testing the kids will be more than ready for the Dance A Thon. Stay tuned and watch the emails and website for more updates.
Due to the feed back and turnout we are going to alternate the PTO meetings moving forward to try to reach a broader audience. The next meeting will be April 16th and will be in the evening, 7pm at the Sea Girt Elementary School. We are hoping for another good turnout and the support of class representatives. We will be discussing all the great upcoming events and also the filling the volunteer needs.

Stay in the Know
This school year, the PTO has added some new digital channels to our communication repertoire. Here are the many ways you can keep up with PTO activities:
- The weekly newsletters (you’re reading it!)
- Additions to the Tuesday and Friday school emails
- Our new website (newsletters, events, store, contact form, and more)
- Our PTO email: email@example.com
- PTO Meetings – You’re invited! Please join us monthly to discuss current issues, fundraising, events, volunteering, programs, goals, and anything else important to supporting our school.
- In Person – You can always approach anyone on the PTO board at school, on the playground, around town, or any way you choose.
Please let us know what’s working for you (and what isn’t). If there is anything would like to see us do differently, please let us know. We’re listening on all channels!
The PTO thanks all the families for their continued support in moving forward all the activities and fundraisers throughout the year. Without the support of the administration and families we could not meet our mission.
Please help to make 2019 our strongest PTO year at SGES!
With Patriot Pride,
The Sea Girt PTO Board
