WE’RE ALMOST THERE!
There are 3 more Mondays left in the school year, if you can believe it. What a year it’s been. We continue to be grateful for so many SGES traditions that returned to school this year and look forward to what the last few weeks have in store for us! MOTHER SON DANCE A massive thank you to Sue Nolan and Katie Poland for making our annual Mother/Son Dance happen this year at the Spring Lake Country Club. It was a beautiful evening filled with fun, great music, dancing and delicious food. The boys looked so handsome all dressed up! We will miss Katie and Sue terribly, as their sons graduate in June, and thank them from the bottom of our hearts for all they’ve done for SGES over the years. BOOK FAIR The Scholastic Book Fair is right around the corner….as in, it starts TOMORROW and runs through Thursday. Please check your email for details of when your child’s grade will get to go shopping. A BIG thank you, again, to Claire Beggans for organizing the Book Fair and making it happen twice this year. The kids always have so much fun! LUNCH – PLEASE READ IF YOU ORDER LUNCH OR PLAN TO Given the amount of students out of school on a daily basis due to illness or otherwise, leftover lunches are piling up. If you have ordered lunch for your child, for any given day, I encourage you to reach out to me, Cate Leonardis, prior to the day you ordered for. This way I can notify the lunch volunteers as to what to do with it. Please let me know what you would like done with your child’s lunch, for that day or for the duration of your child’s absence from school, i.e. give it to a staff member or you will be picking it up. Lunches will be brought into the main office to be picked up. To guarantee that your child’s order is waiting for you, please reach out! I want to make sure you all are getting the lunches that you ordered for your child or that they are going where you want them to go. LAST PTO MEETING Our next and final PTO meeting will take place Thursday June 2, after drop off at the picnic tables. (If there is rain, we will meet at the Shore Pour.) The current board will vote on the incoming board and this will be your opportunity to sign up for volunteer positions for the 2022-2023 school year; this includes class parent sign ups. I encourage everyone to come to this meeting! You will be able to meet the 2022-2024 board and see where you can help out SGES for the upcoming school year. We look forward to seeing you all there! VOLUNTEERS We can’t emphasize enough how important volunteers are to the success of the school year. There are many things our parents and kids want to see happen throughout the year that are made possible because of those who volunteer. Please reach out to a PTO member to find out how you can become part of a committee or become a committee Chair. WE ARE ALL THE PTO! FIELD DAY Field Day is set for Thursday June 9! We need lots of volunteers for this really fun day at school. Please reach out to Cate Leonardis, if you would like to help in any way. We will need volunteers from each grade to provide bottled waters, watermelon slices and coolers. We will need a few hands to man the grill. And Mr. Wnek will need volunteers at the different activities. Class parents, stay tuned for an email with specific needs that you can relay to the rest of your class’s parents. SPRING FUNDRAISER I am thrilled to announce that plans are underway for our annual Spring Fundraiser! We are aiming to hold it in June this year. Stay tuned for details! With Patriot Pride, SGES PTO
