HAPPY NEW YEAR AND WELCOME BACK! We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas break and that 2022 is off to a great start for you all. We are staying hopeful for a healthy and happy new year, eventually freeing us all from the restrictions 2020 put onto us. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and say cheers to 2022! LUNCH – PLEASE READ IF YOU ORDER LUNCH OR PLAN TO Given the amount of students out of school on a daily basis due to illness or otherwise lately, leftover lunches are piling up. If you have ordered lunch for your child, for any given day, I encourage you to reach out to me, Cate Leonardis, prior to the day you ordered for. This way I can notify the lunch volunteers as to what to do with it. Please let me know what you would like done with your child’s lunch, for that day or for the duration of your child’s absence from school, i.e. give it to a staff member or you will be picking it up. Lunches will be brought into the main office to be picked up. To guarantee that your child’s order is waiting for you, please reach out! I want to make sure you all are getting the lunches that you ordered for your child or that they are going where you want them to go. PTO MEETING Please join us for our first PTO meeting of the new year! Our January meeting will be Tuesday January 25, after drop off, over at Shore Pour. Please bring your ideas, suggestions and open ears! We will be talking winter/spring events, as well as giving a more in depth look at the success of our 2021 Craft Market and what our 2022 Craft Market could look like. We look forward to sharing a cup of coffee and chatting with you on Tuesday morning! VOLUNTEERS We can’t emphasize enough how important volunteers are to the success of the school year. There are many things our parents and kids want to see happen throughout the year that are made possible because of those who volunteer. Please reach out to a PTO member to find out how you can become part of a committee or become a committee Chair. WE ARE ALL THE PTO! Specifically, we are looking for more parents to add to our volunteer list for our lunch program. We have our designated 6 volunteers for each day of the week, but we need to build on our “back ups” list for when our regulars can’t make it. The same well continues to be tapped and volunteering for lunch is great way to get to know some of the teachers and other students better, as well as see your own children during the school day. Please contact me, Cate Leonardis, if you’d like more information about volunteering. I look forward to hearing from you!
CALENDARSCalendars are still available for purchase. They are $30 each and feature our children’s artwork, dates to remember and a school directory. Calendars will be available at our January PTO meeting on Tuesday 1/25 or by contacting a board member. FATHER/DAUGHTER DANCE We still plan to have our annual Father/Daughter Dance this year, however we have decided to move it closer to spring, rather than have it during February. We are expecting Omicron to calm down in the next month or so. We will then continue moving forward with the planning process. Please join us at our meeting on Tuesday morning, 1/25, to discuss further details and if you have any suggestions or ideas to bring to the floor. PTO WEBSITE We are looking to move away from our current website and become a tab on www.seagirt.k12.nj.us . This would involve some minor tech work that would consist of copying and pasting, no coding of any sort. If anyone is interested in helping out with the switch over, please let a PTO member know. In the mean time, our website is still up and past newsletters and PTO minutes can be found there. Also, please follow @sgpatriotpride on Instagram for the latest PTO announcements, info and pics.
