WE MADE IT!
The end of the most wildly, unpredictable school year has come. Last summer, I’m not sure any of us were even sure there was going to be a school year. But there was and wow, we did it. There’s a reason the windshield is so big and the review mirror so small, right? As we wave goodbye to the 2020-2021 school year, we can all look forward to an awesome summer, void of restrictions and the prospect of the start of a “normal” school year in the fall. Congratulations to our incredible 8th graders who graduated last night. They got thrown a heck of a year, filled with obstacles and they continued to put their best feet forward. Good luck to all of them as they embark on their new journeys as freshmen in high school. But wait. Let’s stop all this talk about fall and a new school year! It’s time for summer!!! Wishing our SGES community all the best!
VOLUNTEERS
Goodness gracious, I don’t know where we’d be without the help of our amazing volunteers; this includes class parents, as well as committee chairs and members. Like the 8th graders, each of you put your best foot forward and met obstacle after obstacle head on, all for the sake of our kids and teachers. Some things we could make happen, others we just couldn’t. But what I hope our community knows, is that each volunteer worked tirelessly in hopes of delivering something normal to our kids and teachers this year. Thank you for all you’ve done! And thank you to all of you who have signed up for volunteer positions for 2021-2022. Wow! We do still have some positions open. Please reach out to a board member to sign up.
SURVEYS
A few weeks ago, you should’ve found a survey in your child’s backpack from the PTO. Thank you so much to those of you who have returned it already. For those who haven’t gotten a chance yet, you still have tomorrow to get it in! The board values the SGES community opinion and we are always striving to do better. WE ARE ALL THE PTO!
END OF YEAR TEACHER’S LUNCHEON
Hospitality chairs, Debbie Lajewski and Kelly Jarmon, hit it out of the park for one last time this school year, with a beautiful luncheon for our teachers from Main Street Kitchen. (Main Street Kitchen happens to be one of our lunch vendors whom we are very excited and hopeful to work with again next school year.) We are endlessly grateful for the duo of Debbie and Kelly and all they do. Please go to the PTO instagram, @sgpatriotpride, to see photographs from the afternoon.
